Creating a sociable family living space was top of the agenda for Mr Burgess, resulting in this luxurious kitchen – centred around a practical but stylish kitchen island.
There were just no problems at all throughout the process. We’re thrilled with the design and finish and Moss Hall’s service has been exceptional.
Mr Burgess had a very exacting and ambitious vision for his new kitchen – he wanted to combine his kitchen, dining room and conservatory all together to create a seamless, open living space in which his entire family could gather together to spend quality time in each other’s company. Having first tried a number of other kitchen showrooms, he finally approached Moss Hall Kitchens, where senior designer Richard Day was only too happy to accommodate him.
Moss Hall Kitchens’ comprehensive service offering included the kitchen’s design and installation, as well as the building and electrical alterations that the design required. As part of these building works, Moss Hall sourced, supplied and fitted new radiators in the finished kitchen.
Richard’s finished design is a J-profile ivory kitchen, completed with a high gloss door and mail wenge feature trim. The kitchen includes an integrated dishwasher, a larder fridge and large freezer, and along one side of the kitchen is an innovative appliance bank, gathering a number of other high-tech appliances together for maximum convenience when cooking. These appliances include a Neff slide and hide oven, warming drawer, combination microwave and an 80cm induction hob. The induction hob is very much on-trend for kitchens at the moment. It uses an electromagnetic circuit to heat the pan for only as long as it’s in contact with the hob, which drastically cuts down on the danger of open flames associated with gas hobs. The appliance bank also provides handy food storage right next to the appliances themselves, for easy access when preparing meals.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of a kitchen island nearby not only provides additional workspace for use when cooking, but also makes a fantastic social space for all the family to gather round to enjoy meals, fulfilling a key customer requirement in creating a family-centric space. The advantages of ‘island living’ are particularly evident at parties and social gatherings, where it can be used as a space for resting drinks and nibbles as guests and hosts mingle amongst themselves.
Above the island is an extractor header, which serves the dual purpose of funnelling away cooking smells, while simultaneously illuminating the island with soft white feature lighting. The final result is a finished kitchen with a smart, sophisticated edge, complemented beautifully by 30mm Ferrum Quartz worktops.
“There were just no problems at all throughout the process.” says Mr Burgess happily. “We’re thrilled with the design and finish and Moss Hall’s service has been exceptional.”
