We combined two smaller rooms to create Mr and Mrs Courtney’s dream kitchen, complete with a brand-new breakfast bar and hi-tech modern appliances
Everything was amazing – the worktops, the finishes…the entire thing, really. I love it all!
Tired of cooking in their relatively small kitchen, Mr and Mrs Courtney realised that the utility room next door presented a perfect opportunity to expand their space. When they came to John at Moss Hall Kitchens, they had a very clear vision for how their new kitchen would look and function – which required us to come up with some quite creative solutions!
We carefully removed the adjoining wall to bring the two rooms seamlessly into one, using part of the extra space to install a breakfast bar at the customer’s request. This gave Mr and Mrs Courtney a convenient dining area, transforming the kitchen from a purely functional room to one in which they could spend quality time together.
Having opened up the space, our next focus was to complete the look of the kitchen. The cabinetry doors and panels are in Imola Matt Anthracite, while the worktops and matching upstands are in Corian Platinum; its neutral grey tone complementing the cabinetry’s smart and striking look. Mr and Mrs Courtney specified that they didn’t want the washer, dryer or boiler to be too visible in their finished kitchen, so we concealed them behind doors to avoid them clashing with the kitchen’s fantastic overall style.
This arresting style is matched by a range of powerful appliances, all by market leader Neff. For cooking, the Mr and Mrs Courtney have a Neff single slide oven paired with a Neff combination microwave oven and warming drawer, while the kitchen’s ventilation is handled by a Neff extractor. A Neff 5050 fridge freezer provides ample food storage space, and one of the worktops is outfitted with a Neff 600mm induction hob.
“The induction hob is certainly one of my favourite appliances.” says Mrs Courtney. “I’ve never had one before, it’s wonderful. I’d definitely use Moss Hall Kitchens again; there were no problems with the service at all. Everything was first class!”
