Having just moved into their new home, Mr and Mrs Whitaker quickly decided they wanted a refresh of their existing kitchen, transforming it into a stunning contemporary acrylic white and anthracite high-gloss handleless kitchen.
The couple had first tried a number of companies without success, finding that many of the designs didn’t quite fit in with their vision. Finally, they came across Moss Hall. Taking inspiration from one of their favourite designs in the Moss Hall showroom, Mr and Mrs Whitaker enlisted senior designer Richard Day to help them bring their ideas to life.
One of the most innovative features of Richard’s design is the versatile L-shaped island, which is central to the concept of island living; a key requirement for Mr and Mrs Whitaker. This allows them to prepare delicious meals while still being able to spend time with their children, seamlessly blending the cooking and family living space while giving the room a fantastic flow. Completing the island is a stylish breakfast bar with quirky, colourful seating.
The rich wooden shade of the bar is a perfect counterpoint to the kitchen’s bright, contemporary colour scheme, with the kitchen worktops in 20mm Quartz morning frost. Installed on the island is an induction hob and a cutting-edge Quooker hot tap, capable of providing boiling water at an instant’s notice. It’s just one of the finished kitchen’s many powerful appliances; including the Neff Slide and Hide Oven, the combi microwave and warming drawer, fridge freezer, and dishwasher, all from industry-leading supplier Neff. Meanwhile above, the LuxAir ceiling extractor keeps the air smelling clear and fresh, bathing the entire room in a soft glow from the recessed lighting above.
As well as taking care of the flooring, plastering, electrical, plumbing and installation works, Richard and the team at Moss Hall also renovated the utility room in the same units, as well as complementary worktops.
